Examples of Residential Projects
Colleen has been tasked to create almost every environment or theme one could think of for a mural. From castles fit for a princess to clouds filled with vintage airplanes, the sky, literally, is the limit. Her incredible versatility of style allows for her work to be at home in a child's bedroom as well as in a formal dining room.
Rooms Fit for a Princess (and Prince)...for Real
A prominent Interior Designer heard about Colleen's work and asked her to meet to discuss a VIP client's children's rooms. That meeting led to working for various Princesses and Princes of a Middle Eastern Royal Family. From detailed fairies with Swarovski crystals to ballerinas with real 3D tulle for tutu's, Colleen was thrilled to get to work with this amazing designer on these exquisite spaces. Painted airplanes circle a painted vintage map of the world to create the perfect setting for a 3D vintage airplane bed. In the most stupendous room designed to be an underwater fantasy, painted murals of a mermaid, an underwater castle, dolphins, and embellished fish and coral adorn the walls while a 3D artist created coral reefs and custom furnishings to complete this fantastic space. The space was designed so you felt you entered a submarine where the children could then slide down a custom slide to to enter the play area where they felt they were playing alongside the fish and dolphin.
Canine "Babies" Welcome the New Member of the Family.
Colleen considers it a distinct honor to be asked to design a nursery. To create the space that will welcome a new member of a family is so special. However, sometimes our first "babies" arrive in canine form. So, this client wanted their three dachshunds to serve as the welcome committee in the nursery. Colleen's client provided photos and shared the personalities of each dog. Colleen enjoyed bringing the dogs, and their unique characters, to life. There is confident Sammy perched on a rock, shy Liddy looking at a butterfly, and curious Mac chasing after a lizard. Bluebirds, a nest, and a mischievous squirrel hint at their optimism and love of the nature that surrounds their home. They also provide fun details that the parents can point to and name with little Anders.
Perennial Springtime with Pets
The sunroom of this graceful home on Monument Avenue looks out onto a lovely garden. The clients favorite season was springtime so we brought the outside in to create a lovely background for the furry members of their family. Amidst the cherry blossoms, tulips and daffodils, the dogs and cats each hold a special spot in the room. Birds, butterflies, bees and ladybugs add plenty of fun details that one might miss on first glance.
